Quiet Spaces at St Anne's Church

3/8/2025

Our Quiet Spaces on 25 July was very special indeed - and our sharing afterwards was thought provoking. A huge thank you to Pastor Janet for leading with me, and for instigating the impromptu singing of ‘Spirit of the Living God!
We explored the doctrine of the Trinity through the lens of love, relationships, diversity, images, and the universe -  along with metaphors - such as the "Divine Dance."

We looked at Rublev’s fifteenth century painting – known as ‘The Trinity,’ which invites us not just to observe, but to participate in this divine relationship, with a space at the table for us.  We join this table each week at the Eucharist, but we can also live our daily lives in that space – at that place at the table.
Richard Rohr states ‘I invite you to recognize that this table is not reserved exclusively for the Three, nor is the divine circle dance a closed circle: we’re all invited in.’

Ultimately, whilst the Trinity is hugely important doctrinally, it also offers an invitation for us to join the ‘Divine Dance’ ourselves.
